Ask for help first

Many don’t seek the Lord, choosing to go their own independent ways. I get that. I’m a “I can do it myself!” kind of gal.

Trouble is, too many times I find myself in distress, having to call on someone to rescue me from the mess I’ve made plus handle the thing I could have gotten help for In the first place.
I WILL learn to ask for help first one day.
I will!

Seeking God and following His commands have great benefits. It’s not that you’ll be trouble-free or suddenly wealthy. It’s that you’ll experience peace that makes no sense. You’ll have understanding that you know isn’t from you. You’ll encounter Almighty God!

And the more you do, the easier it is to do the right things. That integrity thing is huge. It seems in our current culture people say what they think someone wants to hear instead of telling the truth.

When someone turns in a lost wallet filled with undisturbed cash, it’s a newsworthy story, but it was simply the right thing to do.

Sometimes doing the right thing is hard! When helping someone isn’t helping – you’ve provided home and food and transportation for someone who refuses to do what it takes to grow out of the mess they’ve made, stepping back is a difficult decision. Letting someone we love fall flat in their face is tough! Sometimes it’s the right thing to do, though.

The thing is, we won’t know the truly right thing to do outside God’s will, which means we need to seek Him and obey His commands. (Are we seeing a cycle here?)

Maybe for today we can simply look for God. Admit we don’t have the answers and maybe not even the right questions. Let’s ask our Savior to direct our every step and show us what our next right thing is.

Coffee, Bible, Journal.
