JUD WILHITE:: NewSpring Leadership Conference

NewSpring Leadership Conference was September 8, 2011. I’m a little slow on posting my notes. I even toyed with not sharing them, but then I realized, I was given the opportunity to go for a reason beyond myself.

  • Ministry can be a roller coaster.
  • We must stay grounded.
  • God knows the ups and downs.
  • My responsibility before God is not a spectacular ministry. It is to have a faithful and sincere heart.
  • This helps prevent the inappropriate highs and lows.
  • Do a gut check.
    • Is your attitude, “I did it on my own….with God”?
  • Stay a little crazy for God.
    • A friend threw up in walkway area of Caesar’s Palace, and a woman slipped and fell in it. Her two friends went to her and helped her up.
    • We have to be ready to get in the mess to help people up and out.
    • Risk will feel crazy.
    • My crazy won’t be mandatory for others.
  • Be compelled by Christ’s love
    • Helping others experience the grace that I know is paramount.
    • Sometimes ministry is like putting one’s hand to the plow, then holding on for dear life.
    • Christ’s love is the only thing that keeps us in the game.
    • No more evaluating from a human viewpoint.
  • Focus on task of reconciliation
    • Not here to point out another’s shortcomings and debt. I’m here to share like Publishers’ Clearing House, “You’ve won the best gift EVER!”
