Plugging back in

The trip away was great. Had I not gone, I would have missed out. Today, I’ll share the briefest (yeah, right) of summaries, then through the week, I’ll unpack these with more detail.

Wednesday, we took the long (really long) way from Townsend to Anderson. We stopped at Sticky Fingers in Chattanooga for lunch, then talked and laughed our way down the highway.

Thursday was an amazing time. I attended the Unleash conference at NewSpring church where I most definitely heard from God. I wept, worshiped and learned. I met some awesome people and reconnected with others.

Friday, I awoke to look out over the lake, watching the mist rising as the sun climbed higher into the sky.  Then after just relaxing through the morning, we decided to explore. We found Abbeville, Antreville, Iva and Sadlers Creek State Park.

Saturday, I caught the sunrise and mist on camera, then we spent the afternoon exploring again. We found Due West and a little town named Greenville. We viewed the falls in downtown, visited the Starbucks (Thank YOU, God!) then enjoyed dinner and went back “home”.

Sunday found us at NewSpring as guests. I have to say, those people know how to make a person feel welcomed! You don’t feel like a little fish in a big pond. You feel wanted and welcomed and they give you a free drink from their coffee cafe!

In the coming days, I’ll share my notes from Unleash, I’ll upload more pictures and I’ll share more stories of my resting time.  If you want to get a head start on that, watch this video message. From the dropdown menu, choose “gametime” then the 2nd file down, 101407_GT-6 (The message itself starts at about 21 minutes in)

This week has already started with a bang — a visit to the dermatologist verified I’m still cancer free and about to celebrate TEN years of that! Just a few moments later found me being used as the Savior’s hands and feet, assisting a lady who is very sick carry her groceries to her car.

What are you up to?
