Whatcha doin’ on the 27th?
The needs in Haiti are still very real and intense. All money raised in response to the Haiti earthquake will be used immediately to re-equip Compassion’s local support structure and to provide for the immediate needs of Compassion-assisted children and families.
Compassion has been meeting the physical and spiritual needs of Haitians for more than forty years and will continue to serve them in this time of extreme need. Already Compassion International has supplied more than 15,000 families with clean water, food, blankets, temporary shelter, medical supplies and counseling. Donations will lay bricks, feed, educate, clothe, heal and rebuild Haiti for many months to come in Jesus’ name.
On Saturday, February 27th, an amazing event to raise funds for this relief effort will occur. Several artists, including Alison Krauss & Union Station (featuring Jerry Douglas), Amy Grant, Big Kenny, Mat Kearney, Jars of Clay, Rebecca St. James, NEEDTOBREATHE, Brandon Heath and more will perform in a live concert to benefit Compassion International’s Haiti Relief Fund.
Two locations, the historic Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles and the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville will be the live locations as artists share the stage to raise awareness and funding for Compassion’s efforts to assist the hurting in Haiti. Tickets are available on Ticketmaster.com ranging from $25 to $75 each. That’s a bargain! They are also available by calling the Ryman Auditorium 800-745-3000 on Ryman.com or through Live Nation for the Wiltern.
Nashville venue: Hosted by Big Kenny. Performances by Alison Krauss & Union Station (featuring Jerry Douglas), Jars of Clay, Mat Kearney, Dave Barnes, Matt Wertz, and Brandon Heath.
Los Angeles venue: Message from pastor Francis Chan. Performances by Special Guest headliner, Amy Grant, Leann Rimes, Rebecca St. James, NEEDTOBREATHE.
ALL the proceeds from the concerts will go to the relief fund, because all the talent and production fees have been donated, along with the streaming services!
What a way to share the love with those who need the basics of life — water, housing, clothing.
So, go on now. Get your tickets. Make your plans. Call it a late Valentine’s Day gift or an early St. Patrick’s Day gift. (It’s even deductible on your 2009 tax return!) Call that a win-win!
